The Chapman's Peak Half Marathon route is subject to change if Chapman's Peak Drive is not open due to weather or rock falls. In the event that we cannot run this course an alternate course may be used.
We are sorry the 12km distance will not take place this year. There has been an increased number of runners taking part in the half marathon. Therefore, for the 2025 Chapman's Peak Event, there will not be a 12km distance option.
This decision has been made for the event logistics and to ensure the best possible race day experience and safety for all participants.
Numbers are limited due to the permit conditions. If the 21km numbers are low, we might consider offering the 12km distance. We appreciate your understanding and support.
Runners are encouraged to carry their own reusable cup or bottle or hydration pack that can be refilled at 1 of the 6 Aid Stations. A limited quantity of paper cups will be available at each aid station for front runners.
There will be 6 Aid Stations (3km, 6km, 9km, 12km & 17km). You can expect water at all the Aid Stations and Coke at alternative Aid Stations. Medics will be at the Start, finish and turn around point on the Half Marathon.
The Chapman's Peak Half Marathon is committed to keeping the event more environmentally friendly and sustainable by reducing the amount of single-use plastic and waste used.
We run along the beautiful Atlantic coastline within the Table Mountain National Park. Let's enjoy it by reducing the use of single-use plastic and waste.
Runners are encouraged to bring their own reusable cup or reusable bottle or hydration pack that can be refilled at each Aid station.
The Chapman's Peak Half Marathon supports a few of the local Hout Bay Charities. Please consider giving them a small donation when you enter.
